The other night - it was a still night, with a cool, gentle breeze creating a calming rustle through the leaves in the trees - I sat outside with a cup of tea in hand, and thought about what I wanted out of the new year. My resolutions for last year were quite vague; stop complaining about my appearance, stay healthy, take more photos, improve my communication skills with friends and family, and be more social. For the most part: Mission Accomplished.
However, I can't help but realise that my 'resolutions' for this year are somewhat similar: reach my yearly saving goal, stop bingeing, maintain healthy habits, say yes more often (aka 'be more social'), read at least 12 books, and maintain my GPA.

Okay, so 2013 might be a little less exciting than 2012 - no multi-month backpacking adventures on the cards this year - but with two weddings, two music festivals, two interstate trips, a 3-year anniversary, and a baby coming up in the next few months, I'm sure things will be kept exciting!
What are your plans for 2013? Do you believe in resolutions - have you made any this year?
Hi kelsey (nancy?)! have just been trawling through your blog...you take lovely photos! actually i just followed you on bloglovin'; i'm looking forward to seeing what you'll post this year!
ReplyDeleteas for my resolutions; i don't realy believe in them but i vowed to 'be a calmer person' in 2013...we'll see how that turns out hah!
p.s. the tattoo on your foot is very pretty; may i ask what it is?
take care xx annie / WEMAKEPLANS
it's the big excitements AND the small momentary treasures. perhaps 2013 will be about the small treasures... or surprising adventures! lol
ReplyDeleteWise words, Monica :) very true.
